Gemma Marks is one of the UK’s leading practitioners in participation sport with extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of all aspects of creating and organising major events. Gemma works across all aspects of the business including strategic and long term planning for existing events, finance management, creation and development of new events and working closely with sponsors, charities and other partners.

Gemma worked for leading sports marketing agency Fast Track for 5 years on the UKA televised athletics programme, before joining Limelight Sports in 2006. For the past 13 years she has been instrumental in helping Limelight become “The Agency of the Active World”.  Within the client services team, Gemma has specific responsibility for the Royal Parks Half Marathon working very closely with the main sponsor, Royal Bank of Canada, to create an event that annually attracts 16,000 runners and is nine times oversubscribed.  She also has responsibility for the London Duathlon and Limelight’s involvement with Sport Relief. Within the agency, she has also been responsible for relationship management for major clients such as JP Morgan and Nike.

Even in her spare time Gemma is still “running” events. She ran in a Spartan race this year, has completed the London Marathon and regularly takes part in parkrun. Gemma is also a keen netballer, playing weekly in a local league.
